How to get access to NMI?
The National Microscopy Infrastructure invites scientists to submit their online applications for access to one of the NMI nodes, all of which offer cutting-edge imaging technologies and expertise to make your research project a great success!
All NMI users will use this Web Access Portal as the virtual entry point to the NMI nodes that offer imaging technologies and services
Procedure when applying for project support from NMI
- Portal account
If you do not already have one, create an account on the NMI portal. - Application
When your account is active, create an application for project support. - Review by staff
The application will be reviewed (you might be redirected to a different node than the one you initially selected). - Consultation
If your project is deemed technically feasible and one that will benefit from the available NMI imaging technologies, the node will arrange a consultation with you, either in-person or remotely. - Refinement
If your application is granted then you will be asked to supply additional information in the portal. - Access
You will then schedule your visit to the NMI node and carry out your experiments. - Feedback
Finally, after you have completed the visit, you will be required to fill in a brief online feedback form.
Application review
Your application will be reviewed for technical feasibility, not e.g. expected impact. The benefits that the available NMI imaging technologies might be able to provide the project, and the ‘need’ the project has for the technology, will also be considered. Please note that all submissions regarding user access must be done via the Portal, not by email!
