A practical course on biological sample preparation for TEM that includes: ultra-microtome sectioning, chemical fixation, plastic embedding, TEM imaging, high-pressure freezing & freeze substitution, immunolabeling techniques (Immunogold, CLEM), volume EM (FIB-SEM & Tomography), segmentation and sampling.

National Microscopy Infrastructure

NMI is the Swedish infrastructure for advanced microscopy in life science. NMI is supported from the Swedish Research Council and cofinanced from the participating Universities, KTH – Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Umeå University, Uppsala University and University of Gothenburg.

The mission of NMI is to provide the life science research community with access to unique competence and instrumentation in microscopy. NMI also coordinate national and international knowledge exchange in microscopy and is the Swedish node in the European Infrastructure – EuroBioimaging.
