Basic Course in Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy (SEM/TEM)

This course covers lectures and practical demonstrations in SEM and TEM techniques. The contents include principles of electron microscopy, specimen preparation, cryo-electron microscopy and correlative light-electron microscopy. The main focus will be on imaging biological samples, but the course may also be suitable for material scientists interested in high-resolution electron microscopy.

National Microscopy Infrastructure

NMI is the Swedish infrastructure for advanced microscopy in life science. NMI is supported from the Swedish Research Council and cofinanced from the participating Universities, KTH – Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Umeå University, Uppsala University and University of Gothenburg.

The mission of NMI is to provide the life science research community with access to unique competence and instrumentation in microscopy. NMI also coordinate national and international knowledge exchange in microscopy and is the Swedish node in the European Infrastructure – EuroBioimaging.
